Serves 2
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 pack firm tofu (approx 400g)
- 3-4 tbsp cornstarch
- 2-4 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 green onion (diced)
- 1 red chili (diced, optional)
- 1 clove of garlic (chopped)
- Small pinch of sugar (optional)
- Wedge of lime
- 1 tbsp Ooomami Seasoning Salt
Method:
- Open the pack of tofu and allow to drain on a paper towel for a few minutes.
- Cut the tofu into bite size pieces, and gently toss with the cornstarch and half of the Ooomami until evenly coated.
- Heat a pan over a medium-high heat, and add the oil. When the oil is shimmering (the telltale sign that it’s hot), add the tofu. Allow to cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tofu is crispy all over. Remove from the pan and allow to drain on a paper towel.
- Place the pan back over the heat and add the garlic. Cook for around 5 seconds and add the green onion and chillies. Cook for around 30 seconds, stirring frequently and the tofu, the remaining Ooomami and the sugar, if using, and stir to coat evenly. Serve with the lime wedges, or add some rice and veggies to make it a meal.
