Savoury and Smoky Chickpea Salad

This Sundal-inspired chickpea salad combines tender chickpeas with vibrant spices, fresh herbs, and zesty lime for a refreshing and protein-packed dish. Perfect as a light meal or side, it brings South Indian flavours to your kitchen in under 15 minutes.

Serves 2-4

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of chickpeas

  • 2 tbsp of cooking oil

  • 2 dried red chillies (optional)

  • ½ tsp mustard seeds

  • 5-6 curry leaves

  • 3 tbsp Boom Spiced Chili Salt

  • Small handful of coriander leaves

  • 2-4 lime wedges

Method:

  1. Drain the chickpeas. 

  2. Add the oil to a pan, when hot add the curry leaves, mustard seeds, Boom and chillies (if using), then add the chickpeas. Toss together. 

  3. Place in a bowl, and sprinkle over a little extra Boom. Garnish with the lime wedges.
